WHAT IS MINICHURCH?
MiniChurch is exactly that: a Miniature Church. It is a model of the first
century church that early Christians experienced, before the establishment
of institutionalized denominations. Early Christians met in private homes
where they could meet their extended family in a warm, personal setting,
safely exercise spiritual gifts, stretch their faith, and sharpen one another
as iron sharpens iron. We can achieve that same kind of kinship when we
experience a MiniChurch.
In MiniChurch you will discuss what we received from the weekend message
presented by Pastor Don Cason, under the leadership of a Leader who facilitates
the meeting. Friendships are made, encouragement is found, and growth in the
Lord all happens in MiniChurch.
WHY IS MINICHURCH IMPORTANT?
If the weekend services are considered the teaching or lecture time
(classroom), then MiniChurch has to be considered the lab (practical
application), a place where you can come and discuss the Word. If you didn't
understand something, answers can be found. MiniChurch is a place where you
can talk about how the Word applies to you personally.
Prayer is an important part of MiniChurch. The Word tells us that when two
or more are gathered in His name, He is there in their midst. When a MiniChurch
comes together to pray, lives change as you are supported by others who care for
you.
Friendships are built in MiniChurch. There is no such thing as a lone ranger
Christian. We need each other--the Word tells us that over and over. Some of
your closest and longest lasting friendships will be found in MiniChurch.
HOW CAN I FIND A MINICHURCH?
You can find out specific locations and times for any MiniChurch by looking
out on our front table during the weekend services. You can also call the church
office at 371-9263, or under ministries on this website. Most of the
MiniChurches meet on Wednesday or Thursday nights unless otherwise indicated.
We recommend that you attend different MiniChurches until you find the right
one for you.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MINICHURCH?
MiniChurch meets for about an hour and a half. The evening likely begins
with a fellowship time with refreshments brought by members of the MiniChurch.
Worship songs are usually sung, followed by a discussion based on the weekend
sermon and how it applies to you personally, as well as a prayer time where you
can pray for each other. Trained lay pastors called "Leaders" lead your time
together.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
MiniChurch exists to provide direct pastoral care, leadership training,
interactive ministry, and Christian fellowship for the people associated with
our larger body.
